The host
My name is Bjørn Setsaas, I own and have ran Brekkeseter since 1995.
The first years I ran it together with Kari Haugrud.
I am born and raised in Trondheim and come from a background as leading private businesses.
In 1995 we decided to put all our effort into our great passion for the outdoors, experiences, good food and good wine.-
I bought Brekkeseter the same year.
We decided that Brekkeseter shouldn’t be a traditional hotel. Instead we wanted a new group of travelers, who had high expectations to dining, accommodation and experiences.
History
Brekkeseter lies on top of the mountain village Høvringen, between the mountains and the lush mountain farm areas.
Høvringen was once the country’s greatest mountain farm areas with over 30 operational mountain farms.
There were guests in Laurgårdseter already in 1840, it was British lords that was hunting reindeer.
