Brekkeseter

Brekkeseter is situated on the top of høvringen mountain village just next to Rondane Nationalpark.

Here we offer beautiful terrain in summer and skiing in winter. Every ski trail is marked and groomed in the winter.

Fishing, cycling, rafting in Sjoa river, Mountain trips and berry picking are other very popular activities.

Stayed 3 nights at Brekkeseter. A beautiful hotel high up in the Rondane mountains. The hotel offers a step back in time, and a comfortable experience for those who love nature. Our party rented three cottages and two hotel rooms. The cottages (Rundtomstua, Østerdalsstua and Bamsebu) were all beautiful, cozy, clean and individually decorated. Surroundings and views are mind-blowingly beautiful. Our family stayed at Østerdalsstua, a 300-400 year old cottage – incredibly cozy and genuine. Hotel service is the very best. The owner and staff are all very friendly and attentive. Food is just fantastic. True Norwegian cooking. It just doesn´t get any better than this! Dagfinn B

The host

My name is Bjørn Setsaas, I own and have ran Brekkeseter since 1995.

The first years I ran it together with Kari Haugrud.

I am born and raised in Trondheim and come from a background as leading private businesses.

In 1995 we decided to put all our effort into our great passion for the outdoors, experiences, good food and good wine.-

I bought Brekkeseter the same year.

We decided that Brekkeseter shouldn’t be a traditional hotel. Instead we wanted a new group of travelers, who had high expectations to dining, accommodation and experiences.

History

Brekkeseter lies on top of the mountain village Høvringen, between the mountains and the lush mountain farm areas.

Høvringen was once the country’s greatest mountain farm areas with over 30 operational mountain farms.

There were guests in Laurgårdseter already in 1840, it was British lords that was hunting reindeer.
